The Scientology Volunteer Minister program is a global movement, providing effective help since the mid 1970s to those in need.
Volunteer Ministers are world renowned for their effective efforts in times of disaster, natural or man-made—such as in New York City at the World Trade Center, September 2001, where more than 800 of them were instrumental in the massive rescue and relief operations. In recognition of their extraordinary work, the New York Fire Department awarded the Volunteer Ministers a Medal of Honor.
Volunteer Ministers are now a vital force in bringing aid to victims of the Tsunami disaster in India, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Indonesia.
The tens of thousands of Volunteer Ministers active around the world share a strong conviction that SOMETHING CAN BE DONE ABOUT IT. Using basic principles and procedures developed by Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard, they do so whenever and wherever the need for help arises.
